Employee insurance policies in the collective agreement

You as an employee are covered by a number of important and beneficial insurance policies through the standard collective agreement between Finanssektorens Arbejdsgiverforening (the Danish Employers’ Association for the Financial Sector, FA) and Finansforbundet.

The insurance policies include group insurance schemes, a health insurance policy and a dental insurance policy. The insurance policies apply if you are employed by a company covered by the collective agreement. The specific agreements and coverage may vary somewhat depending on which company you are employed in.

If you have questions about the insurance policies and your coverage, you can either contact your employer, your HR department, your union representative or the district your company belongs to in Finansforbundet.

About group insurance in the event of death and certain critical illnesses

As long as you are employed under the standard collective agreement, you are covered by a group insurance scheme through the insurance company GF. The insurance scheme covers you in the event of death or you or your children’s critical illness.

In the event of your own death, a one-time payment of DKK 200,000, known as a death benefit, will be made, which will be paid to, e.g. your surviving spouse or your surviving children.

If you have a critical illness covered by the insurance, you may be entitled to a one-time payment of DKK 200,000.

If you have children under the age of 18 who are affected by a critical illness covered by the insurance, you may be entitled to a one-time payment of DKK 50,000.

About the health insurance

The health insurance is mandatory and ensures that you as an employee covered by the collective agreement can get treatment at a private hospital as well as private aftercare and rehabilitation. The health insurance also ensures that you can get necessary treatment from, e.g. a chiropractor or physiotherapist if you have been ill or injured.

About the dental insurance

If you are employed by a company covered by the collective agreement, you are covered by the company’s mandatory dental insurance for all employees. The insurance must have a maximum annual deductible of DKK 995, and the sum insured may be up to DKK 30,000 per year and covers, e.g. fillings, X-rays, root canals, periodontitis and surgery.
